At the Sežana College of Materials Design (VSOM), we believe that true learning begins where different ideas, cultures, and approaches intersect. That is why we are enthusiastically broadening our horizons beyond borders and preparing to obtain the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE), which is the gateway to the European network of higher education exchanges.
What does Erasmus+ offer VSOM?
By joining the Erasmus+ program, we will open new paths for both students and faculty. International exchanges are not only an opportunity to visit foreign countries, but also represent a challenge, growth, and exposure to new practices. At VSOM, we believe that experiences abroad enrich students by offering a different perspective on their field, work, and life.
Strengthening ties with foreign institutions
Our plans extend beyond traditional exchange programs. We aim to build long-term partnerships with universities, research centers, and innovation hubs across Europe. This includes:
-
study visits to leading higher education institutions,
-
collaboration in the development of joint curricula and research initiatives,
-
creating projects that connect design with science, technology, and entrepreneurship.
International experience as an advantage for the future

Every student who studies or does an internship abroad brings back more than just additional knowledge—they bring back a broader perspective, self-confidence, and a better understanding of how the world works. At a time when the economy increasingly values adaptability and intercultural competencies, we want to be a school that makes this possible.
Global openness, local strength
Although we are expanding outward, we remain committed to our local community. Our goal is not only to export knowledge, but also to bring it back—in the form of new ideas, projects, and connections that will enrich the local community, create new collaborations, and build a future where education is truly borderless.
