The school\u2019s founder is <a href=\"https:\/\/inkubator.si\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inkubator d.o.o. Se\u017eana, <\/a>\u00a0which also provides the facilities and equipment for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vss-sezana.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the \u0160C SK Se\u017eana Higher Vocational School<\/a>. The school has been operating on its premises since 2008 and supports the development of vocational education in the region.<\/p>\n<h3>Support from local and professional institutions for VSOM accreditation<\/h3>\n<figure id=\"attachment_578\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-578\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-578 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/vsom.si\/ wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/akreditacija-vsom-300x195.webp\" alt=\"{%ALT_TEXT%}\" width=\"300\" height=\"195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/vsom.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/akreditacija-vsom-300x195.webp 300w, https:\/\/vsom.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/akreditacija-vsom-150x97.webp 150w, https:\/\/vsom.si\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/akreditacija-vsom.webp 485w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-578\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">We prepared more than 100 documents to obtain VSOM accreditation!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>It is particularly gratifying that the establishment of VSOM was supported right from the start of preparations by numerous municipalities in the Primorska region\u2014including all those in the Karst and Brkini regions\u2014as well as by major professional institutions at the national level and abroad, and by a truly impressive number of companies and individuals from the broader creative industries sector. This support also extends to the school\u2019s first study program, <a href=\"https:\/\/vsom.si\/en\/study-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Material Design<\/a>, which combines general engineering and design knowledge and skills with expertise in material design, 3D design, and jewelry design, which students will acquire at the school and through professional internships in companies.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<h3>The Process of Obtaining Accreditation for the Se\u017eana College of Materials Design<\/h3>\n<p>The preparatory group, led by Dr. Lucija \u010cok, included the following members:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dorijan Mar\u0161i\u010d, Director of Inkubator d.o.o. Se\u017eana,<\/li>\n<li>Jelena Ur\u0161i\u010d and Jasna Klan\u010di\u0161ar, Principals of the Se\u017eana Higher Vocational College,<\/li>\n<li>Toma\u017e Vadjunec, Professional Associate,<\/li>\n<li>Anton Marn, Dean of VSOM.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To submit the accreditation application, we prepared and obtained more than 100 documents. With these, we demonstrated to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nakvis.si\/about-sqaa\/agency-council\/?lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">National Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Quality in Higher Education<\/a> that we have a clearly defined structure, vision, and development plans for the school. We have also secured suitable and well-equipped facilities and developed a high-quality study program. The faculty consists of experts in the field of material design. Our initiative has received broad support at the local, national, and international levels. We have also secured placements for professional internships.<\/p>\n<h3>The Future of VSOM and New Study Opportunities<\/h3>\n<p>A great deal of work has been done, especially for a relatively small working group. However, we are firmly committed to investing much, much more in the coming months and years. Across all areas of VSOM\u2019s operations. All with the aim of successfully welcoming the first group of students in October 2025 to the Materials Design program, followed by many more in this and other study programs.
