The project was initiated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.komen.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Municipality of Komen,<\/a> and its implementation was carried out by the <a href=\"https:\/\/inkubator.si\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Se\u017eana Incubator, <\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vss-sezana.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Se\u017eana Higher Vocational College<\/a> and the Se\u017eana College of Materials Design \u2013 VSOM.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=\u201d1\/2\u2033][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]\n<h3 data-start=\"893\" data-end=\"929\">What is the Moon Gate?<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"931\" data-end=\"1129\">The Moon Gate <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Komen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Komen<\/a> sculpture is not merely an aesthetic element in the public space. Its design and execution reflect the key knowledge, skills, and values that students develop through their studies at VSOM.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1159\">The Moon Gate represents:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1449\">\n<li data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1230\">\n<p data-start=\"1162\" data-end=\"1230\">the integration of design knowledge and material research,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1315\">\n<p data-start=\"1233\" data-end=\"1315\">the integration of traditional stoneworking techniques with innovative approaches,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1371\">\n<p data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1371\">responding to the specific needs of the local environment,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1372\" data-end=\"1449\">\n<p data-start=\"1374\" data-end=\"1449\">sustainability-oriented interdisciplinary work by students and mentors.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=\u201d1\/2\u2033][vc_single_image image=\u201d1879\u2033 img_size=\u201dfull\u201d css=\u201d\u201d][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]\n<h3 data-start=\"1451\" data-end=\"1493\">A Symbol of the Breakthrough in Slovenian Design<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1495\" data-end=\"1715\">The design and installation of the Moon Gate reinforce the role of design in public spaces. The project serves as an example of how study can transcend the boundaries of the classroom and create solutions that impact people\u2019s daily lives. At VSOM, we encourage such collaborations, as we believe that project-based work in a real-world environment is crucial for developing the competencies of future creators.
