The Baroque staircase at \u0160tanjel Castle, one of the finest examples of stone heritage in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Karst\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Karst region<\/a>, was revitalized in its renovated form in 2022.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=\u201dflexslider_slide\u201d interval=\u201d3\u2033 images=\u201d1862,1863,1864,1865,1866,1867,1868,1869\u2033 img_size=\u201dfull\u201d css=\u201d\u201d][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]\n<h3 data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"813\">Renovation with a vision and respect for tradition<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"815\" data-end=\"1194\">The project was initiated by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.komen.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Municipality of Komen,<\/a> and the renovation was carried out in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/inkubator.si\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Se\u017eana Incubator<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/irssezana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Se\u017eana Education and Development Center.<\/a>\u00a0Professors and students from <a href=\"https:\/\/vsom.si\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">VSOM Se\u017eana<\/a> \u2013 the Se\u017eana College of Materials Design \u2013 participated in the project.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1196\" data-end=\"1244\">More than 3,400 hours of meticulous craftsmanship<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1446\" data-end=\"1766\">During the restoration, 89 new stone elements were crafted, and 21 originals were restored. All pieces were hand-carved using methods employed by master craftsmen over 150 years ago. This was also an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience and knowledge about cultural heritage in the school workshop. The restoration of the \u0160tanjel staircase is thus not just a construction project, but also an educational story about the transfer of knowledge and craftsmanship techniques.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]\n<h3 data-start=\"1900\" data-end=\"1952\">Why visit the renovated staircase in \u0160tanjel?<\/h3>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1954\" data-end=\"2193\">Today, the renovated staircase is one of the most beautiful features of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visitstanjel.si\/en\/stanjel-castle\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">castle courtyard in \u0160tanjel, <\/a> where history, knowledge, and aesthetics come together.
