[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]From Monday, May 11, to Wednesday, May 13, 2026, we hosted students from Class 3B of the Ljubljana Secondary School of Design and Photography (S\u0160OF)<\/a> at the Hostel Kras Pliskovica<\/a>\u00a0for the second year in a row. This time, 25 students, facing quite challenging weather conditions, encountered stone carving for the first time and created works inspired by the poetry of Sre\u010dko Kosovel<\/a>.<\/p>\n

During the three-day creative workshop, the students explored ways of expressing themselves through Karst stone and tried their hand at individual assignments inspired by Kosovel\u2019s poetry. In this way, we paid tribute together to one of Slovenia\u2019s greatest poets and actively participated in commemorating the Year of Kosovel 2026.<\/p>\n

Despite the rain and wind, there was no shortage of creative energy. Numerous interesting and original works were created, proving that young artists can develop an exceptional sense of material, space, and artistic expression even in a short period of time. We are particularly pleased that, in just two working days, the students successfully grasped the basic principles of sculpting in Karst stone and connected them with their own understanding of Kosovel\u2019s poetry.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval=\u201d3\u2033 images=\u201d1586,1587,1588,1589,1590,1591,1592,1593\u2033 img_size=\u201d6048 by 4032 pixels\u201d css=\u201d\u201d][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=\u201d\u201d]The workshop once again demonstrated how important it is to give young people direct access to local cultural and natural heritage. Through the creative process, the students learned about the characteristics of the Karst region, developed their manual skills, and linked their artistic interpretations to the heritage of the environment in which Sre\u010dko Kosovel<\/a> created his work.<\/p>\n

We are delighted that our collaboration with the Ljubljana Secondary School of Design and Photography is continuing and expanding, as such gatherings make a significant contribution to connecting young people, art, and the Karst heritage.<\/p>\n
